What an awesome way to start off the year! The sun was shining, it wasn't too hot (yet), and we had some fun getting to know each other. I feel like the day went by so quickly! We did many activities that centered around building community within our classroom. The emphasis being that we are a school family, and although we may not always get along with one another, be each other's best friends, we will always respect our peers. The team building activity below was much more challenging than it looks. Each team had 6 strands of spaghetti, one large marshmallow, a yard of tape, and a yard of string. Their task was to see which group could build the tallest tower (with the marshmallow on top) in 18 minutes. The winning team's tower was 17" tall! See you tomorrow 4th graders!
