Families of 231:
During Christmas break a saw that a friend of mine had done a 'Pay it Forward' project with her lower elementary students... I was reading so many wonderful things coming from it, so I thought, "We could totally do this in our classroom!" I gave each student $2.00 to do something kind for someone or something. The results were heart-warming. The students wrote about their project, and they will be displayed. The excitement in the classroom on the day they were due was just awesome to be apart of. Some 'candidates' cried... and best of all, some even paid it forward from theirs. Caleb told us just yesterday that the daycare he donated books to, started a 'starter pack' and paid them forward to a different daycare. Mrs. Burnes (our school secretary) laminated them all yesterday. She sent me such a nice email saying how they were such nice acts of kindness. I'm SO PROUD of these kids. This IS their nature! They rock!
